You still have lots of stuff left to do man. You got at least a couple of months of waiting for it I reckon.

Re: Mark's M52/2.8 + nitrous
205/45's arrived today, so I can lose the excessive tyre stretch on the front. They're just part-worn Toyo's but I'll match them to the rear once the arches are done and we've finalised the ride height.

Picked up some tweeters to run with the 6x4's in the kick panels. Also got some universal covers, as the JBL's didn't come with any, and have to say I was pretty surprised at the quality and they look great for six quid.

Am going to be spending a couple of days doing body prep' soon and finally deciding on carpet colour.

Re: Mark's M52/2.8 + nitrous
Started body prep at last, now all the wiring is finished.
Popped all the glass out today. Front screen put up a fight but came out eventually. Found this in the bottom corner, where it seems the rubber retains water. Easily ground out and repaired though fortunately.

Also found this beneath the rear side window. Still, not bad for 32 years I suppose.

Re: Mark's M52/2.8 + nitrous
I have my Windscreen to pop out and fix at some point soon. Not looking forward to it! No idea how bad it is, but I'm getting a damp drivers footwell, and the usual glovebox issue.
Hope it's no worse than yours, I can cope with that!

Re: Mark's M52/2.8 + nitrous
Yeah, it just goes to show that no matter how solid we think our cars are, there are always little bits of rot tucked away where we can't see them. I think it's the design of the window rubbers that causes the problem, as the water doesn't all drain away, so sits and rusts the metal. I also want to get plenty of wax protection in the rear quarter and arches, where you take the rear seat out. I've seen a couple of outwardly nice looking cars, that are rotten in that area, but covered with filler. Hopefully, once these 2 places are repaired, it's be a few years before I need to worry about rust again.

Found rust there on my special.
Have you checked the rear window.

I also had rust in the front and rear windscreen area. Don't have this problem anymore.

Yes, but only rust was the front corner and side, as per pics.cobbler2u wrote:Found rust there on my special.

Re: Mark's M52/2.8 + nitrous
Been looking at different front spoilers, as figure the Ronal one may not let me run as low as I'd hoped. I got a 320is one from the USA and am going to give it a try instead. The fact that it's rubber could be a bonus with speed humps. (also thinking I may take a mould from it and make some fiberglass copies?)

Re: Mark's M52/2.8 + nitrous
320is front lip arrived. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a warp in the bottom edge.

20 minutes with a hot air gun and it went back to the original shape. It'll get a bit more working once it's fitted. I still haven't decided between this or the Ronal spoiler though?

Deleted one wiper hole and screen surround repairs are finished.

Deleted the rear trip and welded up the holes. Going to go and do the prep work myself next week and it should finally be painted next Saturday.

Nice early tii turned up for restoration.
