Scottish Independence Yes or No

Post by TopCat »

This subject has provided a pretty lively debate on another car forum I visit so I thought I would gauge reaction here as well:

As long as they don't share the £ and take their share of existing UK debts they can go forth and multiply with my blessing. Resolving the West Lothian Question and removing any chance of another Blair Brown shambles is worth any negatives.

Where would it stop though. Next Bradford will want to go it alone lol. If they have their own currency and pay what they owe I'm sure England can only really benefit. What I don't understand is why Scotland / the scots would want to.

I guess it's down to a long standing hatred of being told what to do by westminster. Not that that's a uniquely Scottish thing!

Seems like it has the potential for dissaster if it goes wrong, so I voted no since I have nothing against the scotts, and I'd hate for them to have to cut their road maintenance budget. Too many great driving roads up there to get ballsed up by independence!

I dont really see how this can benefit the every day man, if anything living costs might increase.
I think there are other hidden agenda's to suit the minority of higher powered individuals, using media and patriots to try and push it through.
Nas is right, if there is a vote it should be UK wide.
