'83 320i US Spec - NorCal

Post by Oldsmobile »

Hello everyone!

Last week I picked up my first e21. I don't know much about them yet, in fact this was the first e21 I've ever even sat in. It's also the first truly rust free vintage car I have ever owned having spent its life in California. I plan I making it a daily driver for a very long time.

It looks like with a professional machine polish, that'd look amazing! Are you planning on ditching the federalized bumpers and stuff?

I also think the hennarot will come back nicely with a good polish. It's got some cracking but I don't mind a little patina.

As for the bumpers, no. I will never remove the ugly 5mph bumpers. Why, if I admit they are hideous to look at will I not remove them?

This happened to my e30 last year. She would have been totaled if not for those ugly 5mph bumpers.

Hello and welcome. That's quite some advert for US style bumpers! Judging by the fender bender my relatives have been involved in, it makes good practical sense to keep them on!

Sadly I do not have the E30 any longer. That car had spent it's life in the Great Lakes and after 27 salty winters was in pretty rough shape. The underside was badly rusted with holes in multiple locations.
