Today I took the car for a ride.
To a friends place
Then strapped it down for some flogging
She gave me these results for my efforts.
Needs a little work on the engine but I am happy with the numbers!
Note the two runs that were 164 hp were done with the secondaries disconnected so it was running on a 195 CFM two barrel carb!
Pulls were done in fourth gear from 3,000 rpm to 7,500 rpm.

Was already wondering what was going on there, but there's life! And not a bad result at all! Also matches your hopes, or expectations?

There were times Jeroen that I was wondering what was going on here.... . Yes the numbers are good and I might be able to get a tad more out of it with some tuning.Jeroen wrote:Was already wondering what was going on there, but there's life! And not a bad result at all! But it is alive now just need to sort out the brake issue, going to put in smaller I.D. master cylinders and see what happenings. Problem is brake paddle only moves 1/4" and there no way to push hard enough to lock up the wheels. So the problem is the masters I pull on are too big in I.D.
Then we need to finish the body and paint work - and I am sure there will be a growing list of small things needing attention.
But if things go well in the next two weeks we should be at an SCCA auto-x practice April 18th!
Not the fastest - but always fun to drive.

OK for you rev happy sound junkies - here is a video of the last dyno pull with the air cleaner off from 3,000 to 7,5000 RPM. At the end that is the rev-limiter kicking in. On NASCAR racing in America they have their Crank it up sound moments - so CRANK it UP! Enjoy all you engine floggers...LOL

Did some more carburetor and a few more dnyo pulls - netted 182.88 hp and 162.94 ft lbs of torque.
We are thinking the big change is that the rings are still seating in.

Yes - we are thinking the rings are maybe still seating some and still playing with the jets in the carburetor. Put the front clip on the car Saturday and got the brakes working better - so we will be putting some test laps on it this coming Saturday !
Still have a LOT of body work and paint to do but we can work on that between driving it .
