Some progress

Double valve springs (can see it with a little effort) :

It 's coming closer to life, can already see some blood :-)

And the lsd, from Nas

Nas, our guessing is that it is a 2002 or e21 crown/pinion as well as diff case (the big part of the case. The cap is defo from e21), and the lsd plates are from e36?

I would appreciate some opinions here: Current setup is the open 4.10 diff with an eco 5 sp gearbox. I am quite happy with this setup, and I am sure that it will get even better with more power which will be provided by the new engine. However, I have a 3.64 lsd form Nas, and was thinking to give it a try (when the new engine's fitted). What do you think of that?

Car's in now. (In the workshop).
Works already started, I am very excited and waiting to see the result.
Rear disc brakes are already on (I saw my E21 for the first time with 323i rear brakes yesterday, it's somehing...)
Will soon update with fresher pics

It all depends on what power and torque you get out of the new engine.

A 3.45 and eco box is standard fit on a 323i with ~140bhp and 140lbft (190Nm)
But they are much livelier with a 3.64 and then more with a 3.91.

I don't know the full specs your new engine will have but lets say you'll have - ~130bhp and 130lbft (180Nm) as per the 2002 tii.
I'd guess the 3.64 would work quite well for fast road use.
If you were racing on track then a 4.1 is the way to go or even a 4.45 (if you can find one!).

To be honest it isn't hard to swap over the diffs so give the 3.64 a go especially as the LSD will make a big difference to how it drives.
If you don't like it and would prefer the shorter ratios, the LSD unit could be rebuild into your original 4.1 diff (I'm sure Hardeman could help there).

Hope this helps

Thanks Ben, it really does help!
We decided finaly to go with the 3.64 lsd and a dog leg box (yes we managed to find one!), and in case I feel I'd like the car to be a bit quieter on the motorway maybe I will step back to the eco (however something inside me tells me I won't)

We are now ready to fit the Wilwood calipers (the ones I got some years ago via the group buy in the forum - beter late than never...) and I have almost learned by heart Nas's build thread- I guess I am ready to go for exams :loll

So the pads I should use with these are the Ferodo DS2500 P/N FRP3108 ?
Can someone help here? I have to tell the mechanic asap

If someone can help here
In the wilwood build thread I read that one proposed pad for the Wilwood powerlites is the Ferodo Ds2500 P/N FRP3108
Entering the Ferodo website, I see two types (letter at the end differs) for the same P/N
http://www.ferodoracing.it/scheda/pastiglia/cod/FRP3108
I am not sure which one should I order.
Thanks in advance

You want the DS2500 compound FRP3108H

the other part FRP3108Z is the UNO compound.

Question: Are these pads (Ferodo FRP 3108) compatible with brake wear sensors?
I was thinking this gadget would be a not bad convenience for my car..
