when did you buy these floor parts as i got the 2 narrow strips and the left wide panel from walloth a year ago, they said they had very low stock, i had to find the wide right handside floor part on ebay, i looked for months for one, i believe i got one of the very last ones, later walloth said they no longer had any of these floor bits and havnt had any of them for a long time, when did you order and recieve them, as this doesnt make sense as they said they no longer had any of the parts any more.

As a matter of fact, I have been travelling soooo much lately - that I have not done anything. Untill today (not much, but anyway...)

Here are some pics of engine after blasting:

Some new parts from my local BMW-dealer. Dashboard, glovebox, and other parts to the dash...:

Finally the 3mm thick headgasket from MLS (3-layer, steel) and MSD DIS-4 ignition, with 3xMSD dual coils. And also the flanges to my turbo....

Just a little picture to illustrate the thickness of the gasket

When you want a car in "new" condition, new parts is a lovely thing. I have had soooooo many cars and projects during the last 13 years, but really most of them were sold before they were really 100% finished.

This time, I want my "baby" (that I have placed in a dusty corner since 1996) to be my showcar, and "just-like-new" condition. Used parts is not an option. New is new, old is old. I think you will understand me the day I (hopefully) will be finished with it.

I have been a judge on such carmeetings several times, and now I am tired of looking at other peoples nice cars'. I really want one that is nice - and mine - which I am proud of....

And the E21 is worth costing money to, does not everyone in here agree with that?

hi, that is exactly what im doing rebuilding the whole car to look brand new so everyhting is markless, how ever wouldnt reskinning the dashboard and other things be cheaper, i suppose im just doing things differently like everyone does, but mine will look brand new also as everyhting must be perect and markless. i agree abou thte money i willing to spend also.

Hi Pedi,

Buying new parts is obviously going to be expensive and it’s not something I’d do for my whole car. This is only because I can’t afford to buy every part brand new, if I could I would definitely do this, always wanted to create as new an e21 as I can, so f you can afford it, keep doing it mate, I can’t wait to see what it looks like when finished.

I cannot afford it more than anyone else. I have a new house and a family of four, so I have to spend a lot of hours late nights on others cars to be able to buy my parts...

The main thing is that you must be WILLING to buy parts... I have owned this car since 1996, and I have always looked at it - standing alone in a dusty corner. Then I saw Jeremys project on the net for a year (or two) ago... It inspired me to start thinking about the making of my own car...

I will update you guyz in here all the way. It is very nice to get positive feedback at your own work, and there is not sooo many E21-lovers outside the BMWE21.net forum....
