E30 320is from Rome, Italy
Hi everybody, i'm a new member and i own since december 15th a 320is delphin metallic, with leather seats and manual sunroof. My car have done only 116.000 from that July 1990 when she was born. It's in very good condition but needs some improvement in order to be both a sharp drift car and a track day one (and to improve stabilty at high speeds).

Well if you want to make her a little bit sharper... here's some suggestions:
-switch to 15" cross spoke wheels with good stiff tyres like Bridgestone Potenza pole position
-check your dampers and if necessary, replace with Bilsteins
-change to Eibach springs
-fit the solid M3 front control arm bushes
-fit a front strut tower bridge
That should do a hell of a job!

Yeah those brakes.... I'm currently suffering from an empty wallet otherwise I would already have ordered that Wilwood stuff! But a brake overhaul (rebuilt calipers) and good new pads, hoses & fluid can perform miracles as well. BTW thinking of installing a larger brake master cilinder when I switch to Wilwood as well.

my car has everything new, so i'll wait to change everything.
Before buying that Wilwood kit, i'll change pads with ferodo ds 2500 and the brake lines for using dot 5.1 oil.
I've read tha article about Wilwood, just to see if i understood...
it comes with 4 280mm disc rotors and 4 calipers or just the front...

Nonono the Wilwood kit is just for the front. A complete kit consists of 2 pcs 280mm discs/rotors and 2 brake caliper units (each 4 calipers). Most kits have all the lines, brackets and pads as well. Look here for a great deal:

As far as I can see the only thing that's extra is the pads. Probably drilled and slotted rotors are optional. Slotted is ok but I hear a lot about trouble with drilled rotors (cracks).

Hi everyone, I am an another italian new owner of a 320is with the same number of kilometer of 7800rpm's one, same colour, 2 door with sunroof
... really two sisters!
Some hundred of kilometers away, since I live in Torino.
I have from few month, indeed brakes where the first problem, I destroyed almost everything in 15 minutes on Varano track
Now I have new disks, new Ferodo DS2500 both front and rear, rebuild front calipers, new DOT 5.1 oil and it's much better

Congratulations to you too... now you like your 320iS, you'll love it a little later!
Have to agree, a brake caliper rebuild can do miracles but on trackdays you're still wishing for some more, at least I am! With the relatively inexpensive new Midilites from Wilwood I think big improvements aren't too far away.

i have a question, i'm thinking of buying a 320is, but i'll have to turn it to Gas (here in Portugal its called GPL) is that what u have there? (LPG)
if so.. how is it compared to the use of petrol? goes nicely?
My dad's friend just bought a 80's 315
and i'm going for an 320is or an M3, going for the cheaper/not too damaged one.

GPL=LPG
it has a higher oktane number so if you have a good system it can/should take advantage of the by advancing the ignition timing.
I donT know enough of LPG transformations to say anything about power output of the engine when it runs on lpg. From what I heard from owners/drivers it is that it runs smoother but has less power.
