Re: Eggenbeefburger Grp2 replica
I need to start putting a list of ''to do'' jobs together though, as I'd really like to get it finished for the Performance BMW Magazine track day at Brands Hatch on February 24th next year.
The engine I have is an e30 318i m10 and they have bigger valves as standard. I plan on using a rally profile cam from Cat Camshafts, as I figure I need more torque over outright power. I want to do some gas flowing and match the inlet ports to the manifolds, before fitting the Weber carbs. I also want the longest velocity stacks I can source, but as they're stupidly expensive, I am wondering if I could use lengths of silicon hose to extend the ones I have? I know it won't make huge power but it'll still be fun in such a light shell.
Apart from the engine, I also need to install the pedal box and sort the brakes. There are Wilwood calipers but I'm tempted to ditch the servo and mod the pedal, to get more leverage. Anyway, a few more pics.

Re: Eggenbeefburger Grp2 replica
buy a proper pedal box Mark. They are awesome once you get them setup and working right. I don't get any "pedal fatigue" driving mine with it... its worth it just so you get some decent pedal feel.
avoid OBP - if you ever have a problem they are not too interested in helping - I would therefore get the beautiful Tilton 600 floor mount setup - if you buy the two pedal version and use the existing mech for the accelerator so save yourself some real cash as the three pedal setup is £200 more than the two pedal. as you have no dash it would be easy to mount your reservoirs and run the lines, you could also fit a nice hydro handbrake too.

Re: Eggenbeefburger Grp2 replica
How big is that fuel tank?
I only ask as a small one will affect your range and the events you can do.
For Eg Butch's 20 galls last just over an hour at race pace! Ford BDGs do 7/8 mpg..

Re: Eggenbeefburger Grp2 replica
Combined with the swirl pot, fuel lines etc there's around 15 litres / 3 gallons. I'm doing mainly sprint / hillclimb events so that's plenty. Even track-days at Brands should manage 25 - 30 laps between refuelling.
Many thanks to Stanced UK who very kindly supplied me with a set of wheels for the race car. Just need to fit the 888's and fit them.

They're perfectly ok for track use and there's a saying about gift horses and their mouths.

They're a very good company with discerning tastes.
Hopefully the livery will be done this week, in time for the NEC on the 17th.
