The last spots on the car are sorted and completely sprayed with filler.
Before spraying the filler the car was cleaned with compressed air. A lot of sand and dirt we found…

Here you see the epoxy and filler (wet in wet painted).

We already saw some polaris on the hinges of the bonnet and bootlid and some little stuff. Old BMW’s with an Uni colour are painted inside and out in the same paint. But the metallic ones not. They have no clear coating on the inside, so the paint is not as bright and shiny as the outside.

To have that same effect, but still apply the most recent products, my painter suggested an Engine bay paint. That has a brightness of about 75% of the normal metallic coating, no clear coat, but much better resistant against cemical substances, like petrol, oil and ATF. So I decided to have the inside, the enginebay, the boot and the underside painted in the engine bay. Polaris, of course.

The first paint was for the bootlid.

After that the bonnet

So we have the first Polaris!! On with the rest!
Sunroof, outside.

Inside covered, because thats already painted in the Enginebay coating.

Image

Bootlid the same

Image

The first layers give some structure. Thats needs to be sanded out.

Image

After the block and the machine some powder on it. The black powder shows imperfections.

Image

Tape in the lid so we can sand in the edge.
