you need another transmission mount and rubbers. This one is mounted to the two side mounting positions on the left en right side of the tranny

this one

and this rubber two times

We always modify the original gearstick holder and shift linkage.

You also need to shorten the propshaft and rebalance it.

Good luck.

thanks, we have that one (it came with the gearbox) but I thought it didn't fit right, I will dubbelcheck and come back on that.

About the stick: we need to extend the linkage and holder?

do you have a good address (in NL) for shortening and balancing the propshaft?
Probably just a few CM's, am i right?

I've always been very satisfied with the propshaft work done at www.terbergtechniek.nl in Hoogeveen

I think you didn't fit you're motorrubber wel. YOu mounted it like this:

My car has it like this:

If you can do this on both sides you're shifter will get a few centimeters backwards.

For the transmission holder you need this one like on m e12:

The one Peter says may work to, i don't now. That one is originaly for e24 type 2 an e28.

Exactly, just put the rubbers back.

i will take a picture of my E12 with 5 speed.

And if your egine rubbers are mountend like in the post before. thats nog correct.

My transmission came from a E24 and that mount will fit. You can't find the part in the E12 section on bmwfans or realoem.
But we checked the nummer and it will fit an E12.

thanks guys! I will check next week. What I've seen on the rubbermounts: there are these small round bits that stick out. We aligned them with the holes in the motor mounts. But when we put in the engine we saw that the small bits at the bottom didnt align with the holes on the car. Probably we indeed need to move them and that problem will be fixed.

Hopefully the aluminium bar for the gearbox will fit, otherwise we need to get the other bar. Will let you know next week.

:thnx

We had 2 hours last week to work on the car, so we checked the motor rubbers + gearbox crossmember.

We lifted the engine and turned the rubbers, on both sides they were mounted incorrect, now it fits!

We aligned the gearbox, but the shifter seems to be a bit too much to the right, need to look into that.

The aluminium crossmember fits the e12, so we're lucky, no need to get the other crossmember.

Nice, it's solved.

The problem with the gearstick is maybe because it's not the E12 stick but from an E28? An e12 stick has a threaded top en not with the slit in it.

We Always modify the Original E12 shifterbracket.

Can you lay in al the gears with hitting the body?
