E3, E12 and E24 project bonanza!

Post by 189kmonster »

Hi guys, as the title says, I'm going to have to sell my various project cars under some very sad personal circumstances. I bought all 3 within a few weeks of each other in January this year, but haven't touched them since. The idea was to use the engine, gearbox and LSD from the E24 and restore the E3 into a bit of a monster. But I just haven't had any time as my other half is very ill. All are located just outside Cheltenham, Glos.

So, here they are. Firstly, the E24. It's a 1982 on a Y plate 635 CSI with is taxed and MOT'd till the end of August, but I don't see why it won't go straight through another test. It has just under 105k miles on the clock which I can't verify as there is very little history with it. It's Opal green with black leather sports seats, with a 5 speed overdrive box and LSD. It drives well and there is no transmission noise of any kind. The shell is good and straight and crucially, the front wings are very, very clean and straight - and we know how much replacement ones are! :shock

There are a few bits of trim missing here and there, but overall, it's solid, usable and a great basis as a project. Looking for £1850 for this.

Next, the E3. It's a Ceylon gold 2500 auto with black velour interior. It's a 1972 on an L plate. It has a very low indicated mileage, but I don't have enough old MOTs to verify the reading of 32k miles, but it has been off the road since 1988 and the previous owner told me this was accurate. Overall, it's a great basis for a project but it does need a good bit of bodywork - you'll see the hole in the boot floor on the left hand side in the photos. The engine was rebuild shortly before it was taken off the road, but I haven't had any time to get it running. Looking for £950 for this:

Lastly, the E12. This is a 1979 on a T plate 520. It is utterly rotten and only of use for parts. It does have a 5 speed manual box and of course the 2 litre M20 engine. I don't want much for this at all - I'd rather it went to somebody who needs the little bits here and there that are decent. I just don't have the time to break it. I'll be keeping the brake servo bracket and the pedal box:

The E24 and E3 have both sold, and I've run out of time so the E12 will be weighed in, complete as it is, this week so if you want anything from it you'll need to be quick!
