E21HP 1977 E21

Hey, im new to the forum. So I got this E21 which was made in 1977, many years it was left somewhere outside without any care, people started taking it apart and stealing the parts. I got ir really cheap,something like 150 euros. Took apart the interior, started cleaning the shell, took out the engine. I started looking for the rusts, cleaning it. Got the missing parts.

At the moment im taking the car to weld it and sand blast it. Later we gonna paint it in white.
Hopefully il have enough time to update this forum thread every week. We got some progress, so im putting the couple of pictures how the car looked before.

Thats how it looked when i found it. You can see one wheel and more wheel parts are missing, everythings ripped off:

Removed the carpet, started cleaning everything from inside:





Got the bonnet for the front and rear

The engine was removed, started cleaning the shell looking for the rusts:




Fitted new Volkswagen Golf 1 lamps:



Next step the car is going to the welder. He's gonna sandblast everything and weld it.



Looks a bit better then it used to and on all 4 wheels ))

Welcome to the forum. I think keep it the factory colour, I havent seen a green one yet, and would look nice and different.

Yes it is nice green colour, but its not the original factory color, previous owner repainted it. It might be that im gonna repaint in this colour, but im still thinking a lot about the white one

Some updates:

So i started cleaning everything from the bottom and arches of the car, it took two days for me and still have some places to clean.

My mate got an idea how to make rear disc brakes instead of drums.
We gonna use E30 325 front brake discs and Audi calipers.

Agreed, before you think about upgrades I'd first focuys on getting the body fully restored, that might take some blood, sweat and tears already.

Yes, i have really big problem with the roof.. Il take a picture and post it to show you guys. I think it will be the worst part repairing the car.
