I am trying to get hold of a new fan clutch for my 1982 323I (part number 11 52 1 723 918). The ones that I have located in Malaysia are faulty as they were probably not properly stored over a long period of time. Are the fan clutches from BMW reliable? What about Walloth & Nesch? Any other sources? Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Fan clutch
Well as long as BMW denies there are special storage conditions I wouldn't expect too much from them apart from higher prices. There is a lot of cheap rubbish around, I'd stick to known good brands for these like Febi Bilstein, Behr, Sachs, Beru.

Re: Fan clutch
Where can I get a fan clutch made by one of these established manufacturers? I would prefer a supplier willing to send it to Malaysia or Cologne. The one from W&N does not appear to be made by any of the reputable manufacturers you have identified.

Re: Fan clutch
I recently bought one from Beru on eBay. It's a German company that offered and sent it to me. Perhaps you can look on eBay? I paid around €100.- inclusive of shipping to the Netherlands.
Good luck!

Re: Fan clutch
Thanks Jeroen and Walter. I shall get the fan clutch from Beru or one of their authorized suppliers when I am next in Germany.
