after the engine is warm bellow 2000 rpm a noise is comming from the engine
what could it be? this engine have hidraulic rockers? or the distribution ? or camshafts? i don't think the are worn bearings.
any week points known?
s14 noise
ok, so i came up with some research over the internet and i found that the timing chain tensioner is a very sensible part. the engine sound like an old noisee diesel
what do you guis think about the s50/52 upgrade? i removed the head cover and without the spark plugs wires i've actioned the starter, and i saw between the intake and exayst camshafts the timing chain that apear very loose
anywone? thanks a lot for your inputs

generally the diesel noise caused by a weak tensioner goes away when the engine is warmed up. But your description of loose between the cams when cranking sure is a sign of a weak tensioner.
But in your case it could be something else. When was the last time your valves have been adjusted?
By the way did you make sure that the spark plug wires had a connection to ground, so that the high voltage had a way to go anywhere?
Generally it's a much better way to crank the car by connecting pin 11 and 14 in the diagnostic socket. That really only turns the starter motor and leaves the fuel pump, injectors and ignition 'dead'/off.
