Brake master cilinder upgrades...

Post by Jeroen »

We lost the topic on the old forum... I also lost my memory... who was busy fitting a larger master? Have to do something similar if I want to go for a Wilwood 'big' brake kit...

Did you get any feedback from the guy fitting the Wilwood big brake kit?

It was also on the old forum!

Nope! A pity. But I'm almost there... ready to order the set... seems to fit my 15" alloys according to a Dutch motorsport specialist. I've asked a guy in the UK as well as Wilwood the same question though..

The guys here in Holland advice to try with the stock brake master first, could very well be good enough they say. OK, I can always try.

Sounds good, I am still stuck on whether to go up to 16's or not. Just keep looking at the car and thinking "why have I got ballons on my alloys!"

I suppose its function over form, but then again the M3 is supposed to be better with 17's and it comes stock with either 15's or 16's.

Also it is hard to find any nice 16's with 4 lug fitment.

I run my car on 205/50-15's and I think it looks and handles good enough (also is the largest wheel provided by BMW for the E30 unless you fit Z1 wheels). But there are some nice 16" 4 lug wheels like from Hartge and Alpina. Standard E30 spec btw is 205/55-15... slightly higher rubber.

thats what I have (205/55 R15) they just look a bit to big. I do like the hartges but they are hard to find, the alpinas are nice but to common!

How 'bout Bridgestone Potenza S03 Pole Position? Available in both 50 and 55 series. I'm currently running some really old Michelin Pilot SX-GT's that used to be the standard back then. Those are really good but the Bridgestones are even better, especially in the wet.
