I also plan to run a length of 2.5mm wall thickness 1"x1 1/2" box down the length of the car tucked behind the spot welded flange on the sill, seam weld that in, then triangulate front and rear subframes to that. it will also provide a nice jacking point both sides.

It sounds like you will have plenty stiffness. That wing reinforcing bar can be fitted but it does look like itd get in the way. However that front wing is held on by sooo many bolts i dont think theres a problem if its missing a few..

Did you examine welds for cracks?

Nice work you're doing there! I like!
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Do you mean mine or factory ones?? both? either way good idea I will get some FPI fluid and do an inspection before paint.
THB some of the weld's could do with tidying up, I am just starting to get a bit impatient to get to the good bit, paint and building.

I meant your welds...
1" welds are more likely to crack than spot welds which are factory ones....
It's not bad to weld fiew welds and then start welding on the other side of the car to allow to cool previous welds...

Turning here into an electric car is why you don't need the fuel filler anymore?

I ran a fuel cell in the Boot on my e21 and m3, pain in the ass at petrol stations as they won't let you fill up as they think you are filling milk bottles with petrol (or mabey that's just me). I gad to quite often go explain my petrol filler was in the boot.
before they would switch the pump on.

I plan on keeping the OEM tanks, although 1 may be scalloped out/deleted depending on the side exit exhaust.
if range is ever a problem LPG in the wheel well is always an option.
I like how clean this BMW looks with the swage line and want to have that both sides.

taking some insparation from here as well

see where the fuel filler is! in the bonnet. I could do that on the boot somewhere? I am still thinking on a hinged rear light cluster with the filler behind it, or possibly behind the black middle panel between the lights.

I've been looking at Singer and others myself. I was looking at how to bring a little body colour inside the car? (apart from the rear cage) I have one thing in mind but don't want it to look too much. I opted for the Prototipo wheel too. Gotta love what they've done with the seats. ;)
