Re: Uwbuurman: 1978 323i polaris
Just the hole in the front left wheelhousing and some wiringharnassclamps which have to be attended to.
Triangular piece ath the Bpillar is put in
And grainded down and sprayed in the primer

At the right side at the rearaxle mount, a new piece has to be put in

My brandnew sidepanel came with compliments from BMW’s and a dent… Must be a transportgift, shit like that happens all the time.

Repaired it with “denting out without spraying”
Overview

Tomorrow the last few bits and things and she’s ready to come home to daddy!

Re: Uwbuurman: 1978 323i polaris
After a nice summer we'll go fast forward to November 5th 2011. My little babygirl is born 2 months ago, so time is scarce. But some how I managed to find some time and as winter is coming I finished my heating in the garage. Fitted two new radiators, so the garage is frostfree again! And since I was at the garage, I made the best of it by putting the car on my chassisframe.
Some pics of very poor quality, but the Nikon was at home, so Mr. Nokia had to deliver… Used my phone that was a hot item in the previous century…

Took of the rear subframe and the Bilsteins

My axlesupports are to low, but my old chairs will do!

Rearframe fitted

Front up in the air

And on the frame!

Next job is to make it flip to the sides.

Time for a poll whahaha,
Will this car be ready soon?
Text "e21 ON" if you think that this car will be ready soon
Text "e21 off" if this story will have a damn long waitingperiod before it is to be continued.

Re: Uwbuurman: 1978 323i polaris ripping of the roof!
Then, this project was stopped for some time, due to the birth of my little babygirl. For her birth, on December the 1th, 2011 I bought a 1987 BMW e30 325iA cabriolet, stored for 5 years. This car needed some direct attention, to get it road worthy. I thought I needed to do some small works, but as it turned out, I needed to do body work, enginework, full brakes front and rear, picsfuellines, interior redone and more. But I have a driveable classic BMW, while restoring the E21! For more details see my dutch topic, lots of pics!

And this still is the E30 combo I love best! Malachit paint, chrome bumpers and tan leather!

Thanks Jeroen! Ik never liked green cars, but green BMW's, and especially this combo... Delicious!
but, the e21 is always on my mind, so, with an order of parts for the E30, I bought the insulation for the E21.

One day I will replace that as well. I was thinking if I would be able to fit it without too much hassle when I would open the cut outs on the drivers side but if so, it would probably be a waste of an expensive part. But since you have all the room in the world in the engine bay... do it!

Re: Uwbuurman: 1978 323i polaris ripping of the roof!
Nope, that would be a shame to do Jeroen, just order one, put it in the Attic and one day, you feel like ripping the E21 apart, just do this! I think even the master brakecillinder has to come out, aswell as the exhaust...
During E30 repairs, I trew in some nuts and bolts with the bucket of parts from the E30, to be re-zincplated.

and redone!
