hmmm.. that's not what i payed haha... But i want recaro's in my e12... I don't like the original seats they hurt my back.
So i'm going to make them fit. it is allready a custom car and not original so why not put in some recaro's type 2.

I saw the car where they came from...!
Good luck, most welcome to look at my place.
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

I took some pictures from the recaro seats in the type one E24. See the seat adjustment is different then from the seats Rob posted earlier.
The thing with te backrest I don't see it. the backrests look the same

Take a closer look, they are different. The best you can see it at the side of the backrest, "de wang" in Dutch. On the cloth ones those are more square, but on the leather ones, its more with a point.

Yes they are different... thanks for the Pics Peter!
But it is no problem to fit them in the car... I really like my seats.
Next week we gone paint the car and then it's time for the engine.
After that we will see what we are gone do with thte seats.

short update. Nothing goes as fast as you think (but hopefully the car itself will, when its finished) We will not be painting the car this week, but still, a lot has been done:

we replaced the rust at the engine bay with 'new' donor parts:

because we will fit a double pipe at the end of the exhaust, we wanted a wider hole, and to make thing easier, we also fitted the hole at the same place as the muffler, so more to the middle.

after placing the right lines for the hole, you first cut out the hole, but not all the way, so you can bend it to the inside:

then weld a plate on the slices you just bend inside:

after some welding and grinding (oooohh sparks)

you get this:

still needs to be made nice, but you get the idea.

and we're keeping this one, you never know:
Image

after a lot of cursing we were finally finished with all the rust in the front/engine bay, so time for the primer:

and the back as well:

next up: finishing everything for the filler, hopefully we will be done with that this week.
After that: sanding the whole car to be painted...

Plus one!

In 2016, we are going to make an e12 meeting only!

I have a better idea:
All e21board members may come to this meeting....without an e21 :)
