Thanks all!
Oh yes, I am already making plans for the e12 528i. Gathering some parts and pieces, but the e21 needs to be running before that project takes off.

I took the first steps on putting my 323i back together. I altered the drains from the sunroof. Original the drain into the sills via the A pillar. I made a hole in the A pillar allowing the hose to go out and drain behind the front wing. The exact output, i will make when the wings are on.
One can buy new hoses at BMW’s. thwy are sold by the pair, and you need to cut them to size, in which case you can use the one end at the rear. Since I need all the length I need at the front, I re-used my old ones I saved.
It is a bit of a hussle to get the hoses through the A pillar…

The hoses from the rear I preserved from before the restauration. Even with original clamps!

I even found one of the rings from the front, the other one I got out of an old e24 635csi breaker.

As I went through my parts I found two little brackets that should have been painted. So ik welded the holes shut, sandblasted them and send them of tot he paintshop.

After that I cleaned a pile of clamps, sandblasted thema long with some other stuff and send them to be zincplated

Even on the clamps I find filler and lots of paint

Re: Uwbuurman: 1978 323i polaris: Page 29: PAINT!!!!
And I started working on the doors. A type 2 has mirrors on in the corners of the glass, type 1 has chrome mirrors on the door and a black triangle shaped plate next tot he glass. I wanted to repaint tem, so I thought it would be a good thing to sandblast them.

But no… I forgot how bad my car was.. So I found no less than 6 different layers of paint, filler and other crap. And they are badly corroded…

Later this week I will clean them further and send those to the paintshop aswell.
Last thing i did today was getting my carpet an insulation mats out, after 6 years..

They don’t look to bad at all!
