Re: Uwbuurman: 1978 323i polaris: page 40 lots done!!
Haven’t done much lately. Just some small things, because I have a project on the side, some weldingworks on the e21 323i of Walter.
In September 2010 I trashed my engine in the Ardennes. I took the car apart in the winter of ‘10/’11, for what I believed to be a quick fix. Well, we all know how it ended up
. But now I am in the fase of putting the car together, I get my hands on parts that I haven’t touched for over six years. For example the glove box. Took it out of the ca rand put it on a shelf with all its contents. Turned out to be a mini timecapusle. I found:
Documents from the Ardennestour:

The last reciept from the last tank of patrol and ofcourse oil, the last litre of 20 litres I used to get home.

And I found an empty sportsdrink bottle, I drank on the way home. Both the car and I needed something extra… All these things took me back tot hat last horrific drive in my 323i. But boy, I can’t wait for a drive in this car again!!!
After this find, I took apart the washerfluid pumps. I have two, one for the windscreen wash and one for the headlight wipers.

They are painted, but the rust is apearing again.

They should be yellow zinced.

The cover, the brass plate keeps the wheels in it’s place..

Parts to be zincplated

Intestants .

I put the typeplate and the stickers back in. The sticker is aligned by now, It was only on the picture that I saw it was not right. Are the stickers pretty? No. But they are original. New ones from Walloth und Nesch or from BMW are not correct.

And last but not least, I got me a new brake booster. Outside just as good as mine, but inside like new!!! Clean it up and get it installed.

Hey as for the stickers, you can ask Pukar Designs to do a proper remake

Photobucket has decided to be a legal thief, by altering their terms if agreement. The links are all disabled, so my pics are no longer available, unless I pay 400 dollar a year.
That will not happen, my pictures will be no longer available. My appologies for this.

so there goes Photobucket off my favorite list....
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Wow, way to ruin the internet photobucket! I'll cancel my own account if they continue to do this kind of stuff. This now basically ruins this thread which offered a wealth of knowledge to those tackling similar projects like this.uwbuurman wrote:Photobucket has decided to be a legal thief, by altering their terms if agreement. They seem to have shafted everyone with an account. I assume they saw the recent ransomware attacks and thought it was a good business model. Say good buy to all your customers Photobucket.
