we're ready with the next step, not finished yet, but we're getting there:

We painted the engine bay (finally, what a pain that was) and the trunk.
Plus we put filler on the doorsteps + wheel arches + new exhaust cutout
So now we only need to do the outside of the car: so sanding, maybe some filling and then the final paint! until then, he're some pics

fresh primer:

and then the filler goes on

first layer:

and second layer, back is not perfect, but we'll see if we're going to fix it
Image

this side is perfect

this side needs some work (sanding)
Image

aaand its finished

looks dark, but thats because the photos are made with a phone.

we used the 'wet on wet' technique. Normally you spray the filler on it and after its dry you sand it first before you spray the paint on.
Now we used thinner filler + we sprayed the car right after. This saved us a lot of time, because we didnt have to sand the engine bay again (pfew)

Next update will be about finishing the car....finally!

Nice progress! Looking forward to see some detailed results on applying the wet on wet principle as this may be a brilliant solution for tough spots like the engine bay indeed!

When do you buy an e12!
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

@ jeroen: I will make some pictures when we are back at the car, while it was still wet it looked great! The idea is to us thinner filler so it becomes more smooth than normal. so 2 layers filler (first just a thin layer so the second layer can hold better) and then the same with the paint an the clearcoat, so 6 layers in total. And just let it dry for a couple of minutes (when the shine is off).

@ 323baur, what do you mean? or is it adressed to Jeroen?

here some more picks, while still wet:

Top work there :thumbsup . Colour looks great, I can never get enough time in one go to go wet on wet in the garage, always end up spending ages panel wiping and setting up the following weekend.

Which products do you use? Upol? how much do you thin the high build primer by? 20%
